Sainte-Chapele was built as a built as a reliquary to house the Crown of Thorns. A peace of the stone thorns can be seen here, crumbled off this 13th century building. The true beauty of this building though is the stained glass windows.
On the north side of the city is the Pompidou. A colorful museam with all the infrastructure on the outside.

Although Chambord is quite grand; if you are planing on going to the area we would recommend you schedule some time to spend in the town of Blois. The chateau there is better kept on the inside.
Although almost every day at Six Apart is Take Your Dog to Work Day, Friday was extra special because it was the official Take Your Dog to Work Day! Plus, as lovers of blogs and animals, we think it's great that active blogger and Human Society's President and CEO, Wayne Pacelle, thinks having dogs around the office is a good reminder of "who we're working for."
We realize some people have it ruff and aren't lucky enough to be able to bring their dog to work, but hopefully these pictures taken at Six Apart last Friday will get your tails wagging... And let me tell you, it's harder than it looks to get all the doggies and their fetching owners in one picture.
On the Saturday nearest to the Solstice, June 21st this year, Paris comes alive with musicians on every street, playing to crowds of well dressed Parisians and party goers.
Paris is actually at a very northern latitude, the same as Montreal Canada, but the Atlantic currents keep it warm. In the summer, the sun lights the sky until 10:20 in the evening.
the celebration went late into the night in the 5th arr., aka the latin quarter where the sorbone is and the students tend to be. it was a celebration unto itself.
We stopped at a cafe on Boulevard St. Michel, I had some Chivas with lemon to help with the sickness I caught from the plane.

Spring convocation at the University of Chicago June 14th. Many of our friends we've taken classes with at the CSPP were graduating. We went to celebrate their accomplishment.
